The Summit "e" series switches are available in two versions, the Summit24e3 and the Summit24e2. Both Summit24e switches provide twenty-four Ethernet ports for user connectivity and two Gigabit Ethernet ports for high-speed uplinks to speed traffic to and from the network core. With inherent Quality of Service, line-rate forwarding, and the simplicity of uniform network management, the Summit24e series enables end-to-end Extreme networking on a limited budget.

Summit24e3 - The Summit24e3 is a workgroup switch that brings Layer 3 switching to the edge of the network at an unprecedented low price per port. Made to connect seamlessly with all Extreme Networks switches for end-to-end Quality of Service and line rate forwarding, this is the best choice user access switch for most Enterprise network applications.

Summit24e2 - For network segments that do not need the benefit of Layer 3 switching at the edge, and whose applications do not demand a higher level of redundancy than provided by Spanning Tree Protocol, the Summit24e2 is a Layer 2 switch with a reasonable subset of Extreme features to support this environment. The Summit24e2 enables end-to-end Extreme networking at the most competitive price point yet.

Features for Summit24e3:
•  Non-blocking 8.8 Gbps backplane yields over 6.6 million packets per second
•  Twenty-four 10/100 Ethernet ports
•  Two active unpopulated mini-GBIC ports
•  256 IEEE 802.1Q VLANS
•  IEEE 802.1ad compatible link aggregation
•  802.1p Quality of Service
•  ExtremeWareâ„¢ command line interface (CLI)
•  Extensive management via local and remote (telnet) CLI, SNMP, and RMON
•  Extreme Standby Router Protocol (ESRPâ„¢) aware for advanced resiliency

Features for Summit24e2:

•  Non-blocking 8.8 Gbps backplane yields over 6.6 million packets per second
•  Twenty-four 10/100 Ethernet ports
•  Two active Gigabit Ethernet ports in two version options
- Two unpopulated standard GBIC ports, or
- Two fixed 1000BaseT ports
•  64 IEEE 802.1Q VLANS
•  IEEE 802.1ad compatible link aggregation
•  Wire-Speed Layer 2 switching
•  802.1p Quality of Service
•  Extensive management via local and remote (telnet) menu, SNMP, and RMON
