Ordering by fax
(from the Shopping Cart)

If you are unable to access the Check Out screen, you can fax your order from the Shopping Cart. The fax will be routed automatically to your Tech Data sales team for their personal attention.

To submit your order by fax, follow these steps:

  1. Use any method you prefer to search for products and add them to the Shopping Cart. For more information, see Searching for products and Preparing your order.
  2. In the Shopping Cart, indicate the quantity of each product you want to order — you cannot add or delete products nor revise quantity from the fax page.
  3. If appropriate, select a different warehouse from which to ship any of the products.

    Note: If you are shipping direct to your customer, you may want to choose a warehouse that is closer to the shipping address or, to avoid a backorder, you may want to designate a warehouse that has enough stock to ship your entire order immediately.

  4. If you prefer a different carrier, select one from the Ship Via list.
  5. At the top of the Shopping Cart page, click the Fax link. The Fax page appears and lists all products that were in the Shopping Cart.
  6. Enter the requested purchase order and shipping information. For help with terminology, see the Glossary.
  7. In the Comments box, type-in any remarks that may help your sales team serve you better.
  8. Click the Create Fax link. The Customer Purchase Order screen appears with a summary of your order. This is exactly what will be sent to your Tech Data sales team.
  9. Fax the Customer Purchase Order in either of two ways:
    • Directly from your computer if you have the necessary software
    • By printing the page and using a sheet-fed fax machine
