A

ASCII file, comma-delimited: A simple, text-based means of copying information from one program to another, or between separate copies of the same program — most commonly used with databases and spreadsheets. In this form, the data appears as lines of text, each field separated by a comma.

Available Ship Date: The Available Ship Date is the date that an ordered item is scheduled to be shipped from a Tech Data warehouse after any order processing or requested configuration has been completed. Please note that the Available Ship Date does not take into account any unrelated order conditions that could delay shipment, such as credit holds or a "Ship Complete" requirement.

Call: There is not a price set up in our system for you, therefore you must call a Sales rep to get the price of the item.

Comma-delimited ASCII file: See ASCII file, comma-delimited.

E

End User P.O. #: Refers to the purchase order for the transaction between you and your customer. If you invoke the Blind Packaging option on the Check Out screen, we print this number on the packing slip.

ETA Date: The Estimated Time to Arrive (ETA) Date is the date that Tech Data expects to receive the line item in the warehouse indicated. Please note: The ETA Date information displayed is provided to Tech Data by the vendor and may be subject to change. Because this is a vendor-provided date, product availability on this date cannot be guaranteed.

ETS Date: The Estimated Time to Ship (ETS) Date is the date that Tech Data expects to be able to fill the entire line item. Please note that Tech Data may receive partial quantities from the vendor sooner than expected; therefore, a partial fulfillment to the order line could be shipped by Tech Data earlier than the ETS Date if the order was not flagged as a "Ship Complete" order.

Export (Shopping Cart): This function saves product information in the Shopping Cart as a comma-delimited ASCII file.

F

Floor Plan: Also called "distribution financing" or "inventory financing," this is a short-term third-party loan secured by an interest in the merchandise to be purchased. In most cases, the loan is repayed directly from the proceeds of the sale.

M

Main Administrator: The Main Administrator is responsible for providing access to Tech Data's secured website for all other members of your company and controls their login ID and password. The Main Administrator is empowered to grant or deny access rights and permissions to a user; such as to be able to submit an order for merchandise. The Main Administrator may also create another administrator for a branch office location; a user account for either an individual or a view-only user. You designate a Main Administrator when a contact from your company registers at our online "Electronic Commerce User Agreement and License" page.

Manufacturer Part Number: This is the identification number assigned to each product by its manufacturer. Tech Data assigns a separate and unique part number to avoid the confusion that would result from different manufacturers coincidentally using the same number.

Market Assignments: A Market Assignment is an identifier for a group of countries in a common geographical area. Market Assignments are used to control the purchase of items, ensuring adherence to vendor contract sales agreements and restrictions.

Mfr: Abbreviation for Manufacturer.

R

Real Time: A reference to functions or data that occur or are current in the present moment. Most information on the Tech Data Web site is a static copy of information from our mainframe computers made the previous evening. Other information is drawn directly from the mainframe and is absolutely current. These are "real-time" functions and data.

Requested Ship Date: The date the order was requested to be shipped. Please note that any stock available on the date the order is placed is not reserved for any future-dated orders, and there is a risk the product may not be available on the future Requested Ship Date.

RMA: Return Merchandise Authorization — a record-keeping number assigned to any transaction in which you return a product to us. You can get an RMA number by completing our Online RMA Form or by calling your Tech Data sales team.
