Managing your passwords

The EC Admin tool enables users to change their own password. This function is available in the Password screen. For a detailed description of the functionality of the EC Admin tool see Tech Data EC Admin Help.

Note: The Main Administrator and Admin Users can modify other users' password by clicking on one of the user category views in the User Administration screen and selecting the Change Password column for the user they wish to modify.

To change your password:

  1. On the Screen bar, click on Password to access the Password screen.
  2. The Password screen will display a form applet with your ID, your name, and your contact type. Click on Change Password.
  3. You will be prompted to enter your old password first, and then enter and verify your new password. Once you are done, click on Save.

    Note: Passwords must be exactly eight characters in length and contain at least one alpha character and at least one numeric character. The "Old Password" field is case-sensitive.

  4. The system will display a Password Change Status form with the message "Password successfully changed!".
