Automated U.S. Main Administrator Registration Process Help


After you have received your Customer Account Number please complete the "Tech Data Electronic Commerce User Agreement and License". This automated registration process is for United States customers only. This automated registration process gives you access to the secured product search and ordering tools inside Tech Data's web site. To gain access to the secured web site an authorized representative of your company must register as the Main Administrator and accept the “Tech Data Electronic Commerce User Agreement and License” for your business organization. We will then send an e-mail to the Main Administrator that contains a login ID and a link to be followed to create his/her own password.

Main Administrator
There is one Main Administrator per customer account. You designate a Main Administrator when an authorized contact from your account completes the automated registration process. The Main Administrator is the sole contact for your account and also must have the authority, to accept the “Tech Data Electronic Commerce User Agreement and License” - on behalf of everyone in your organization.
The Main Administrator is responsible for using the EC Admin utility to provide access to Tech Data’s secured web site for all other members of your organization. The Main Administrator has unrestricted access and for all types of user the Main Administrator is empowered to grant or deny access rights and permissions (such as the ability to submit an order for merchandise) on Tech Data’s web site. The Main Administrator may also create other account administrators for instance at a branch office location and delegate the use of EC Admin to them.
The Main Administrator can setup a user account for either an individual with ordering privileges or a view-only user. There is no limit to the number of users that the Main Administrator can add to or delete from web site access. The Main Administrator has control over the login ID and password of everyone on your roster of Tech Data web site users. The Main Administrator also has the ability to globally reset all of the passwords for a selected group of any user type (Administrators, Account or View-Only) on your company’s account.

Who Can Use The Automated Main Administrator Registration Process?
This automated registration process is intended for use by Customers in the United States; both first time e-business registrants and also by Customers who need to change an existing registered Main Administrator on file at Tech Data.

If your company has an e-business account with Tech Data, then someone has already been registered as the Main Administrator. Access privileges or changes for other users should be referred to that person or to another Admin User(s) that the Main Administrator has added to your account. Anyone in an active e-business account who needs to request a new user login ID and password for themselves can send a request directly to their company’s Main Administrator or Admin User(s) from Tech Data’s web site.

How-To Change The Main Administrator Registration
If at any time it becomes necessary for your company to change the registered Main Administrator of your account please follow these instructions:
First have the person who is going to register as the new Main Administrator complete this automated registration process and agree to the “Tech Data Electronic Commerce User Agreement and License.”
Next fax a memo on your business letterhead stationery to eCommerce Support (727) 538-5823 directing us to make the change. A company principal or corporate executive must sign this memo. After we have received both the on screen contact information and your letterhead memo we will then change the Main Administrator of your account. An e-mail will then be sent with a login ID/password to your new registered Main Administrator. We will also send an e-mail to notify key contacts within your organization of this change.The Main Administrator is the only person from your company to complete the automated registration process.

Detailed Instructions For Completing The Main Administrator Contact Form
Data is required in each of these fields:

To begin the automated Main Administrator registration process please enter:

  • Account Number: Enter the Customer Account Number that was furnished to you. Please contact eCommerce Support if you need help to identify your account.
  • Company Name: Enter the full name of your business organization.
  • Main Administrator E-mail Address: Enter the Main Administrator’s business e-mail address. We will send the login ID/password to this address.
  • Postal Zip Code: Enter the postal zip code for your business headquarters billing address.
  • Captcha Unique Identifier: Enter the code as shown in the shaded box in the lower right corner of the form.
At the Main Administrator registration page please enter:
  • Main Administrator’s First and Last Name: This person will be registered as the Main Administrator of your account and must have the authority to accept the “Tech Data Electronic Commerce User Agreement and License”.
  • Main Administrator Business Title: Select the Main Administrator’s job title.
  • Business Telephone: Enter one business telephone number (10 digit format, use all numerals only) to call the Main Administrator.
  • Main Administrator E-mail Address: Enter the Main Administrator’s business e-mail address. We will send the login ID/password to this address.
  • Street Address: Enter the business headquarters address where you receive billing invoices.
  • City: Enter the name of the city where your business headquarters receives billing invoices.
  • State: Enter the name of the state where your business headquarters receives billing invoices.
  • Postal Zip Code: Enter the postal zip code where your business headquarters receives billing invoices.

By clicking "I AGREE" you represent that you are an authorized representative of the company with the authority to enter into contractual agreements on behalf of the company and that you have read and agree to the terms of the “Tech Data Electronic Commerce User Agreement and License”.
