Rapid Application Development

Tech Data adopted a RAD (or Rapid Application Development) methodology in its Electronic Commerce Development Group in March of 2001 to facilitate the "rapid" deployment of web based tools and functionality.

Our first roll-out of design changes and new tools was in early April. The changes we implemented include the incorporation of frames, navigational changes and a new toolbar which gives resellers several product search options and lets them view and control their shopping cart from every page.

Since the inital roll-out, we have launched LION (On-Line Licensing - login required), an Order and Quotation Tool which allows you to order and/or quote for software licenses in an easy and intuitive way.
